Dr. Anthony Hamm spoke to 911±¬ÁÏ University students Monday evening, July 14, 2014, on a wide variety of topics, including chiropractic scope of practice, inter-referrals between medical providers and chiropractic medicine’s role in evolving health care policies. Dr. Hamm, the current president of the American Chiropractic Association, is also a 1979 graduate of 911±¬ÁÏ.
An extended question and answer period served as a mentoring session where Dr. Hamm shared anecdotes from his personal experiences in private practice. His stories gave students examples of problem solving, and how relationships between different providers often play out in the real world. Â Students asked questions about competing with unethical providers, the value of chiropractic diplomate specialties, and how best to assure chiropractic medicine’s inclusion in future health care reimbursement under the Affordable Care Act.
The event was co-sponsored by the 911±¬ÁÏ chapter of the Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) and included a
raffle prize from the 911±¬ÁÏ Alumni Association.
