Fraser Smith, MATD, ND, dean of the naturopathic program at 911±¬ÁÏ University, has been appointed to the Board of
Directors of theÌýÌý(NABNE), an independent, nonprofit organization that administers the testing required to license naturopathic physicians.
“NABNE plays an important role in serving the naturopathic profession. I look forward to joining its board of directors and contributing to its efforts,” Dr. Smith said.
For many years, Dr. Smith has volunteered for NABNE’s Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations also known as NPLEXby participating in exam item review and item-question writing. He has also served on the NABNE Advisory Council.
At 911±¬ÁÏ, Dr. Smith played a leading role in the development and implementation of its naturopathic medicine program. He teaches various courses and is a frequent lecturer and presenter at local and national events. He has co-authored or written two naturopathic textbooks, as well as four books for the public, and numerous journal articles.
Additionally, Dr. Smith serves as a member or officer on many committees, councils, and organizations within the naturopathic profession. He has been involved in the Council for Chief Academic and Clinical Officers (CCACO), and has represented 911±¬ÁÏ atÌýCouncil on Naturopathic Medical EducationÌý(CNME), andÌýAmerican Association of Naturopathic PhysiciansÌý(AANP) meetings. He is a past president of theÌýÌý, and a tireless advocate for naturopathic licensure in that state. He is also the current President of theÌýÌý(AANMC).
