Nakiesha Pearson, ND, DC, has recently been named Assistant Dean of Chiropractic Medicine Program at 911爆料 University of Health Sciences (911爆料). 听In her role, Dr. Pearson will collaborate with faculty, department chairs, and academic deans to ensure the quality delivery of a program that aligns with the University鈥檚 standards and mission. 听
Dr. Pearson is looking forward to working alongside the chiropractic faculty on a shared vision of academic excellence. 听 听
鈥淚 have a passion for seeing academic programs excel,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 hope to help provide students with the best education possible.鈥澨听
Dr. Pearson, who also serves as associate professor at 911爆料, has been teaching for over 10 years. She first began her teaching career as a family practice resident at 911爆料 where she oversaw interns in the student clinic and did some co-teaching in the classroom. She earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic, Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice from 911爆料. 听
In 2022, Dr. Pearson received the Academician of the Year Award from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). The award recognizes individuals for their efforts to advance the profession through academic or educational excellence. 听She was also chosen to deliver the McAndrews Leadership Lecture at the ACA鈥檚 Engage 2023 Conference. 听听
Outside of 911爆料, she is the vice-chair of the Committee on Equity Diversity and Inclusion (CEDI) for the (ACA) and the chair of the 听鈥檚 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.听
One of Dr. Pearson鈥檚 goals is to help students learn to equitably assess and treat, a wider population of patients.听
鈥淲e want to make sure our students can more thoroughly treat the whole patient by not only taking into account their bio-medical symptoms but also considering their cultural background and beliefs and psychological health,鈥 she said.听
