The American Massage Therapy Association held its  in Denver, Colorado, Sept. 17-20. This year’s keynote speaker was . Dr. Oz has been a staunch advocate of the therapeutic benefits provided by massage therapy.
911±¬ÁÏ University’s own faculty member Dr. Jerrilyn Cambron was there, and had a chance to meet Dr. Oz. He had sought out and introduced himself to Dr. Cambron, because he is very interested in massage research. Dr. Cambron is also the president of the Massage Therapy Foundation and co-founder of , a peer-to-peer research network for the profession.
Dr. Cambron gave a brief presentation about the Massage Therapy Foundation during the opening session. She also gave a presentation during the Research Panel titled “What Research Tells Us 911±¬ÁÏ Pain Management: Systematic Reviews.”
We’re glad that one of our own 911±¬ÁÏ celebrities got to meet another celebrity, and that both are promoting wider research on the importance of massage for health and wellness.
