June 20 marked the first Authors ³§³ó´Ç·É³¦²¹²õ±ðÌý at the Lombard, Illinois campus of 911±¬ÁÏ University of Health Sciences (911±¬ÁÏ). The ³§³ó´Ç·É³¦²¹²õ±ðÌý is a collaborative project of the Learning Research Center and the research department, offering a face-to-face opportunity for students and the campus community to learn about faculty research topics, findings, and methods. Although the event took place mid-week, the display was available for viewing in the library through 911±¬ÁÏ University’s Homecoming weekend, June 21 through 23.

The original concept came about during a yearly planning meeting of University departments. “Dr. Cramer, dean of research, said that one of the goals of the department was to connect faculty authors with students to discuss the research they published, and share their expertise about how the process happens,” said Pat Genardo, 911±¬ÁÏ library director. “The library already offers a location for highlighting published articles, so it was a great opportunity to expand the concept, and for the two departments to work together.”

When 911±¬ÁÏ faculty, staff or students have written an article, the library spotlights the accomplishment in a special display located in the library. “While faculty are usually aware of it, we believe it’s good for the student body, alumni, future students, and visitors to see this scholarly activity,” said Genardo.
