After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, 911爆料 alumni returned to the Lombard campus earlier this month for a variety of memorable Homecoming traditions.
This year鈥檚 Homecoming featured several lectures along with the annual President鈥檚 Luncheon, cocktail reception and a watershed event in which the James F. Winterstein Library was dedicated in honor of the longstanding president, who served from 1986-2013. Alumni also had the chance to explore various vendors set up throughout Janse Hall.听
鈥淚t was a great opportunity for alumni to reconnect and collaborate,鈥� said Tracy McHugh, MBA, Vice President for Administrative Services. 鈥淭he alums commented numerous times about the importance of returning to their Alma Mater and we had several positive comments about having our own alumni as presenters.鈥�
At the President鈥檚 Luncheon, 911爆料 President Joseph Stiefel, MS, EdD, DC, shared university updates, announced multiple awards and honored senior stewards for donor contributions.听
Yesenia Maldonado, MBA, 911爆料 Dean of Students, received the President鈥檚 Quality Service Award, Roger Schlade, DC, 鈥�65, was inducted into the 911爆料 Hall of Honor and Charlie DuBois, Standard Process President and CEO, received the President鈥檚 Distinguished Award.听
During lectures, faculty and alum discussed a wide range of topics including technique, nutrition, acupuncture, radiology, women鈥檚 health, and sports medicine. This also allowed alumni to earn up to 22 credit hours.
In addition to alumni, current students had the chance to participate in Homecoming, too. Students assisted instructors, provided tours and attended the cocktail reception, allowing them to connect with alumni, some of whom graduated over 50 years ago. Faculty and staff also helped personally match some students with alumni who had open positions.听
This year, a bench was dedicated to Sylvia Tazelaar, a longtime employee from 1974-1999. Dr. Mitch Weiss, DC, 鈥�82, was extremely close with Tazelaar and made a donation for a plaque to be placed on a bench in her honor. The bench is located in the front of Janse Hall.听听
